Charoite is a rare silicate mineral that was discovered only in 1976. It is a very rare gemstone because it is currently found only in one place in the world - in Yakutia, Russia. There are several places where Charoite can be found: the Chara River area, after which the stone is named, the Togo River basin, the Aldan Shield, the East Siberian region, Danam and the Murumsky Massif.
